ABC's of Salvation
A - ADMIT that you have sinned and need salvation. The Bible says: "For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard" (Romans 3:23) and "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord" (Rom. 6:23).
B - BELIEVE that Jesus Christ died for your sins. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16). The Bible goes on to say, "For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Rom. 10:9).
C - CONFESS Jesus as Lord. Now make a public confession of you commitment to believe by telling someone about your decision to follow Christ. "For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved" (Rom.10:10).

Simple Obedience
Read 2 Kings 5:1 through 8:29
Naaman fell into a common trap. He failed to realize that God rarely asks us to do spectacular things. He asks us to consistently perform simple tasks, to walk in simple obedience. Elisha told him to dip seven times in the Jordan River. The prospect of dipping in a muddy river lacked the dignity that Naaman had anticipated. If he were asked to sacrifice fifty oxen and fast for a week, he would have done it. Dipping in the Jordan was just too simple, too earthy for Naaman.
Naaman was blessed to have servants who pointed out his faulty prejudices. He listened to their advice and received a lasting healing (2 Kings 5:13,14). Even more importantly, he came to know the God of Israel through this experience (verses 15–17).
We need a new awareness of the power of everyday faithfulness. God may not be asking you to take your entire city for the cause of Christ, but He is asking you to love your neighbor. He may not be asking you to give all you have to the poor, but He is asking you to give when you see your brother in need. Greatness cannot grow except from simple obedience.
Challenge for Today: Take joy in simple acts of obedience. Build character through consistency.
